A/S/L? I'm Tom Harrop, 21, Male. I'm a Carbon Neutral Web Designer based in Manchester.

I've been offering web design services for around 6 years. I create sophisticated carbon neutral websites for clients who understand the importance of well executed web design and environmental impact. I am freelance and undertake website commissions of all types for many varied clients including private clients and advertising agencies. I love web design, graphic design, and the environment too. All of the websites I create are fully validated under current accessibility guidelines and standards.

The importance of being green

The websites I create are carbon neutral. I achieve this by using servers in Texas (over't pond) who's operator pumps 130% of the power they use back in to the national grid in wind power. The remaining carbon footbprint is made up of emmissions created by my other server and any business miles I travel (1.451 tonnes combined) and is offset via a government approved scheme. I refrain from using my car for business miles unless absolutely necessary - in fact I refrain from getting out of bed at all but you can't win all the time. My office is based at home and I make sure it takes no more power than if it wasn't there. This relies, in part, on my solar powered laptop.
